Interview #3

Spoke with a student who is attending Sunderland University who took part in ‘Drag Idol’ which was held in Newcastle last year.

Despite only deciding to attend the competition ten minutes before, he had plenty to discuss with me and was also helpful in giving tips for those who may be starting out in drag acts themselves.

With having to meet him in a public place, we ended up sitting outside a quiet pub in town. The only downside during the recordings was some of the background noises, such as seagulls and cars, were a little bit distracting, but they can no doubt be cut during the editing process.

Overall it was a good interview.

Interview #2

Today I interviewed a burlesque dancer by the name of “Laura Pandora”

We met up in Newcastle and spoke over coffee

She was very informative in regards to her work, despite admitting she was incredibly nervous!

She has previously dabbled in working at a strip club too which was good for extra material to use.

She forwarded me contact details regarding an interview with an escort.

Fingers crossed!

Research progression

After watching the documentary tonight on Channel 4 “My Sex Phone Secrets” I am looking into research on what jobs are out there regarding adult phone lines.

Not only are there phonecalls, but also texting services and virtual “worlds” where people can meet in chatrooms but also have visual characters representing themselves.

To further my research I decided to sign up to a couple of websites, just to see what the guidelines and regulations are in terms of what is needed to actually work for such companies.

I’m a little scared!
